At Shaw Plants 11, 14, and 16, we're working towards switching over from natural gas to Yellow Grease (YG). Yellow Grease is an alternative fuel that is collected from the preparation of food. After it is cleaned, it has the potential to be used as boiler fuel. Yellow Grease is a renewable energy source and comparable to natural gas in its pricing.
Shaw continues to review how we operate in order to take advantage of new technologies with greater environmental benefits. That's great Green Edge thinking.
