INITIATIVE | 053 At Shaw, we're committed to great service and we're committed to stewardship. We know our customers require samples to aid in product selection, but we trust they share an interest in the conservation of our shared resources. Shaw's Commercial Sample Recycling Program fulfills a valuable market need and reduces our use of virgin material.
When carpet samples are no longer needed in the field, by either a customer or a Shaw associate, they can be sent back to Dalton in a prepaid freight return bag. Upon arrival, the samples are evaluated according to quality standards. Whenever possible, and at a minimal internal restocking cost, we'll reuse those samples – reducing the number of new carpet swatches manufactured, and diverting waste from landfills. The samples that cannot be reused are either recycled or sold for material value. That amounts to great savings for us, and a real benefit to the planet.
The Sample Recycling Program has met with an 85% success rate. That's indisputable proof of our common interest in reducing waste and reusing materials. Welcome to the Green Edge evolution.
