The same principles that guide the development of our cradle to cradle product solutions apply to the design of our outdoor environments. By using hardy, adapted plant materials suited to the local ecosystem, we create landscapes that are beautiful and low-maintenance, conserving our shared resources. Shaw's headquarters in Dalton, Georgia feature examples of low-maintenance landscapes that work in harmony with nature, not against it. Contoured pine straw islands replace large areas of high-maintenance lawn. Native plants and trees provide a natural habitat for birds and animals. A thick layer of mulch conserves moisture and prevents weed growth, reducing the need for fertilizers and herbicides.
